Germany: investigation into the murder of a schoolgirl attacked with a knife by a migrant

A 27-year-old Eritrean asylum seeker, suspected of having killed with a knife a 14-year-old schoolgirl attacked on the way to school in Germany, will be presented to justice on Tuesday, December 6, said the prosecution.

Taken to hospital shortly after the attack on Monday, the German teenager, of Turkish origin, succumbed to her injuries.

An investigation has been opened to shed light on the circumstances of the attack which took place in Illerkirchberg, a small town in southern Germany.

Another seriously injured victim

The Turkish ambassador to Germany, the interior minister of the regional state of Baden-Württemberg (south) and the mayor of Illerkirchberg are expected at 1:00 p.m. local time at the scene of the attack to pay tribute to the teenager , according to a press release from the regional Ministry of the Interior.
