The former president of the Community of Madrid Joaquín Leguina has been expelled as a PSOE militant, who opened a file on him in 2021 for his support for Isabel Díaz Ayuso in the Madrid regional elections, socialist sources have confirmed to EFE.
In May 2021, the Federal Executive of the PSOE opened an expulsion file against the former president of the Community of Madrid and the former general secretary of the party in Euskadi Nicolás Redondo Terreros for their support in the Madrid election campaign for the Party's candidate Popular.
The decision to open the file was made after the Madrid president, in an act within her institutional agenda, visited the Alma Tecnológica Foundation in April, and was photographed with them, who hold different positions of responsibility in this institution.
Socialist sources have explained to EFE that this file has been processed by the party's Guarantees Committee and has led to the expulsion of Joaquín Leguina, who was the first president of the Community of Madrid (between 1983 and 1995).
In the case of Redondo Terreros, the sources have clarified that the allegations he presented at the opening of the file have been accepted, which, therefore, has not led to his expulsion.
