An investigation was opened on Tuesday the day after the alleged attack by rebellious activists who were distributing leaflets demanding "
the closure of fascist premises
" in old Lyon, historic stronghold of the local ultra-right, we learned from concurring sources.
The case sparked strong reactions among local elected officials and the environmentalist mayor of Lyon Grégory Doucet announced on Twitter that he had taken legal action, which confirmed the opening of an investigation for "
violence by multiple perpetrators
".
The Rhone federation of La France insoumise indicated in a press release that several of its activists had been attacked in the district of old Lyon (downtown), while they were distributing leaflets aimed at denouncing "

” who was trying to intervene had been “
josted and thrown to the ground
”.
On Tuesday, the four Nupes deputies from the Rhône alerted the Minister of the Interior by press release to "

", calling to be received "

The "Remparts" association questioned by the mayor
For his part, the mayor of Lyon again called "
close
" the premises where far-right activists meet, the associative bar "
La Traboule
" known as a stronghold of those nostalgic for Generation Identity - dissolved in 2021 - and the "
L'Agogé
" boxing hall
which presents itself as "
the first identity sports hall in France
".
In the mayor's sights is mainly the "
Remparts
" collective, born in September 2021 from the ashes of Generation Identity.
Mr. Doucet had already called for its dissolution last October after a rally in memory of Lola marked by xenophobic slogans.
Following this demonstration, the prosecution had opened an investigation for "
incitement to hatred
".

which, despite its attempt at ripolining, from identity to rootedness
" leaves "
no doubt
" about its “
violent finality
” and its filiation.
Following these recent events, the Rhône prefecture banned a demonstration planned for Thursday by the identitarians, this gathering traditionally organized on the first evening of the annual Festival of Lights being, according to the authorities, "
