The state government in North Rhine-Westphalia is sticking to the obligation to wear masks on buses and trains in local public transport.
This was confirmed by a spokeswoman for the NRW Ministry of Health on Tuesday of the German Press Agency.
Changes to the current regulations are currently “not appropriate” due to the stagnating number of corona infections.
Düsseldorf – In addition, mouth and nose protection in long-distance traffic is specified by the federal government.
If masks were not required in public transport, it would be “difficult to explain to citizens why they have to wear a mask on long-distance trains,” the spokeswoman continued.
Saxony-Anhalt will waive the mask requirement in local transport from December 8th, and Bavaria will also do away with it on December 10th.
The Corona regulation of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia is still valid until the end of the year.
