The Euronews website reports on a new campaign by the municipality of Amsterdam, in which it calls on those planning a visit to the city to consume drugs, prostitution or drink alcohol, not to come to the city.
It is important to emphasize that the campaign is aimed mainly at British tourists who come to the city for the same purposes, but also various tourists from all over the world who come to Amsterdam for these purposes are included under the same definitions and now, in the Amsterdam municipality, they are being informed that it is better to stay at home.
The Amsterdam municipality hopes that the campaign will change the city's reputation, which has been somewhat shaken in recent years, as it is known as one of the most open and permissive cities in the world with legal prostitution, drugs and wild parties.
All of these, as mentioned, also attract tourists who are less polite and kind, which sometimes also causes unpleasant feelings for the locals.

"If we love the city, we have to protect it from now on," declared the Deputy Mayor of Amsterdam, Sofian Mabarki, "We want to keep the unwanted tourists out to protect Amsterdam."
The campaign will start this spring, with the aim of reducing the amount of unwanted tourists in the city ahead of the peak season - the summer period.
"The campaign is designed to prevent nuisance and burdens on the city. Amsterdam is an international city, alive and vibrant, but we need to keep it livable, and now we choose to define the boundaries it will have - instead of seeing an irresponsible growth of unwanted behavior here," he concluded Deputy Mayor.
