The leaders of the Left, SPD and Greens have called on the opposition CDU faction to come to the negotiating table in a tug-of-war over the 2023 state budget.
In a letter to CDU parliamentary group leader Mario Voigt published on Tuesday, they warn of chaos and a possibly unconstitutional recommendation by the budget committee next Thursday.
Erfurt - The parliamentary group leaders Steffen Dittes (Left), Matthias Hey (SPD) and Astrid Rothe-Beinlich (Greens) propose in the letter a meeting this Wednesday to agree on the further parliamentary procedure.
A spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group said on request whether and under what conditions the CDU would follow the invitation, it would be decided on Wednesday morning in the parliamentary group meeting.
Red-Red-Green and the CDU have each submitted around 200 amendments to the government's draft budget.
They want to use amounts in the hundreds of millions differently than planned by the government.
The government's draft budget has a record volume of around 13 billion euros.
Voigt does not consider it acceptable in its current form.
In the "Freien Wort" (Tuesday) he said that a no from his group was "currently a realistic option".
The red-red-green minority coalition of Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (left) lacks four votes in the state parliament for its own majority.
It is therefore always dependent on compromises with the opposition - usually the CDU - in order to get their votes.
