Yesterday, Russia confirmed that Soviet-era drones, according to it, hit the Engels Air Force Base, where a large fleet of bombers is located, and Bryazan, which is a few hours away from Moscow. Kyiv did not claim responsibility for the attack but celebrated them. "If Russia assesses that the incidents were a deliberate attack , then she will understand that this is the most significant strategic failure since the invasion of Ukraine," said the British Ministry of Defense. "The Russian chain of command will certainly want to identify and impose severe sanctions on Russian officers who are responsible for these incidents."
The Russian Defense Ministry said three people were killed in the attacks in Ryazan.
The ministry said that these were terrorist attacks.
The "New York Times" reported that the drones involved in yesterday's attack were launched from the territory of Ukraine, and at least one of the attacks was carried out with the help of special forces that were close to the base.

Russian commentators wrote on social networks that if Ukraine is able to strike so deeply into Russian territory, it might be able to hit Moscow.
"The ability of the Ukrainian army to reach military targets deep in the territory of the Russian Federation is symbolic and important," said Serhii Zagurts, a Ukrainian military analyst, to the "Espresso TV" website.
Russia responded to the drone attack with a "massive attack on the military control system" of Ukraine. Missiles destroyed homes and knocked out electricity throughout the country. The Ukrainian Air Force said it intercepted about 60 missiles. At least four Ukrainian civilians were killed in the attacks.
The United States announced that it would A virtual meeting Thursday with oil and gas industry executives to discuss ways to help Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
