In one case from the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area, an elderly woman handed over jewelry and gold and silver coins with a total value of around €50,000 to the fraudsters.

GAP - In the districts of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Weilheim-Schongau there were again numerous fraudulent calls yesterday.

In one case, items with a total value of around 50,000 euros were stolen.

The police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South therefore repeats its warning of perfidious scams.  

Several cases of fraudulent calls were reported to the police yesterday, Monday, December 6, 2022, by citizens from the districts of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Weilheim-Schongau.

In most cases, the fraudsters confronted those called on the phone with alleged traffic accidents that a relative had caused.

"Hello, this is the police.

Your son/daughter is sitting next to me.

He/She caused a serious traffic accident in which a child died.

He/she has to go to jail for that, unless he/she can immediately pay a bail of 50,000 euros.” The stories of the shock callers yesterday were similar or similar, and were dramatized by the loud tears or sobs of the supposed relatives in the background.
