The “Sham and the Pen” meeting, in its 44th session, hosted by the cultural Abu Rummaneh in Damascus under the title “When Children Sing, Life Blossoms,” included the topic of children’s literature, its importance, and the need to work on developing it in a way that suits the child’s mind and expands his knowledge.
The artist, Lujaina Al-Aseel, showed her relationship with children, which began during her work in Osama magazine, which enriched her with reading, drawing, and decorating.
The poet Qahtan Bayraktar, editor-in-chief of Osama Magazine, indicated that he has been working with children for 20 years and still is, pointing out that he chose to work with children and achieved success and love because they are a source of optimism and hope, so responsibility must be taken towards them.
The children, Hassan Rabi`, Razan Rabi`, Jana Abu Fakhr, Shahd, and Lamak Ismail presented several contributions in reading, story and poetry that revealed their talents, as they indicated their desire to develop them in various literary forms.
In her turn, the young Manal Al-Lahham presented her experience in writing, addressing the children with some advice that would help them present their creativity. Arwa Sheikhani also presented violin instrumentals that added an atmosphere of fun among the audience.
The journalist, Faten Daaboul, who moderated the meeting, said that children are the wealth of the nation, its bright future and a glimmer of hope, so it is necessary to stand by their creativity because they are the pillar of the nation and its daughters in the near future.
