A 19-year-old young man was slightly injured this evening (Tuesday) by throwing stones on road 556 near the settlement of Carmel in the south of Mount Hebron.
MDA paramedic Elad Pess, who was rushed to the scene, discovered to his surprise that the injured person was his son. He and his team gave him medical treatment and evacuated him to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva. "I saw that he was injured by the stone and suffering from injuries to his limbs and face," Pess said, "It's not easy that you need to take care of a family member."
Pess and his team first arrived to deal with a shooting incident that happened nearby, in which masked men who tried to block the road were shot. There were no casualties in this incident, and the army began searching for the suspects. After that, the MDA team received a report of another incident of shooting Stones near the Ziff intersection further down the road, where the paramedic's son was injured.
"We received a report of a shooting incident on the road near the settlement of Carmel, we went out to scan and check if there were any casualties, when we arrived we saw the vehicle standing at the entrance to the settlement and the driver said that his vehicle was shot at during the drive but he was not injured by the gunfire"

"During the questioning, another report was received about stones being thrown at a vehicle with an injured person further down the road, I was informed that it was my son," Pess continued to tell.
"We got into my son's car and I saw that he was injured by the stone and was suffering from injuries to his limbs and face - also as a result of broken glass. It is not easy when you need to take care of a family member, but fortunately the injuries were minor and he received the necessary medical treatment, and then we evacuated him for further medical treatment at the Soroka Hospital where his condition is mild ".
