The police are hunting for a squad that carried out a shooting on Route 6 yesterday (Monday) close to midnight.
The obvious direction is that this is an assassination attempt against the background of a conflict between criminals.
Two residents of East Jerusalem were injured in the shooting.
A preliminary investigation shows that a Lamborghini vehicle, in which two people, who were not the owners of the vehicle, were traveling, and who were on their way from north to south, was stopped at an improvised checkpoint at the Ben Shemen interchange.
The two apparently thought it was a police checkpoint, but now it turns out that the checkpoint was set up by two members of the squad that was sent to carry out the assassination.
The search continues
When the vehicle stopped, two suspects approached, opened the doors and began to attack them.
They left the place and returned again a short time later and this time fired from short range at the car's passengers and fled the place on a motorcycle.

As a result of the shooting, the two occupants of the vehicle were seriously and moderately-severely injured and were taken to the hospital.
Police forces that arrived at the scene began searches, collected technological means, and as mentioned the search for the shooters continues even now.
The investigation shows that the squad followed the passengers of the Lamborghini from the moment they left the northern part of the country and traveled along Highway 6. The investigation continues and is being conducted by the investigators of the Shepela area crime fighting unit.
