A jury in New York yesterday (Tuesday) found the Trump Organization guilty of all charges in a trial that dealt with a massive tax fraud scheme that lasted over 15 years at the company.
According to the plaintiffs, the plan was carried out by its senior managers.
Jurors deliberated for just over a day before returning guilty verdicts on a total of 17 counts, including conspiracy to defraud, conspiracy, felony tax fraud and falsifying business records.
The company faces fines of approximately 1.6 million dollars after the verdict.
The sentence is expected to be handed down on January 13, 2023.
"The former president's girlfriends are now convicted of crimes. It emphasizes that in Manhattan we have one standard of justice for everyone," Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg told reporters, calling the case "greed and treason." .
Last year, after a multi-year investigation into the company's financial practices, the Manhattan district attorney filed an indictment against the organization's former longtime CFO, Alan Weiselberg. Prosecutors alleged that two corporations that are part of the company paid their executives "high salaries," including Weiselberg, through "cheating on taxes" using a series of schemes that included perks such as luxury cars and free apartments. The
Trump Organization's lawyer, Alan Potrefs, said they plan to appeal the ruling.

Weiselberg, 75, pleaded guilty to 15 criminal charges in August.
The members of the organization claimed that Weiselberg, who is still being paid by the Trump Organization, was the "lone bad actor".
They claimed that he planned the plan for his personal benefit and not for the benefit of the company.
"We are here today for one reason and one reason only, because of Alan Weiselberg's greed," defense attorney Susan Nechels said in closing arguments.
Trump, who was not charged, complained about the case on social media a few days ago and claimed that the district attorney's office was "fighting a political witch hunt against 'Trump'."
