Police were looking for a man Wednesday in connection with three shootings in New York City in a matter of hours that killed at least two people, authorities said.
The New York Police Department identified the suspect as 28-year-old Sundance Oliver, who has been arrested 12 other times and is considered armed and extremely dangerous.
The first shooting occurred around 9:30 a.m. EST Monday morning, when the New York Police Department's 77th Precinct received a call about a man with a gunshot wound, authorities said.
Agents found a 96-year-old man in a wheelchair with a gunshot wound to the ankle.
Officers say the suspect tried to rob a woman before opening fire, but he ended up hitting the old man before running away.

Hours later, the 5th precinct in New York was alerted at 2:40 pm to a 21-year-old man who had been shot on the sixth floor of a building.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Shortly before midnight, the city's 73rd Precinct responded to a report of a 17-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the chest in Brooklyn.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where her death was pronounced.
Police claimed to have evidence that all three shootings were committed by the same person, though they did not disclose the suspect's motive.
Sources cited by the New York Post newspaper say that the teenager was the target of the first shooting.
