Bad Tölz - For the past two years, the "Tölzer Krippenweg" has been an alternative to the Christmas markets that did not take place due to the corona virus.
The citizens liked the exhibition of the small and large stables with Maria, Joseph and the Jesus child very much - that's why the organizers decided to offer the "Tölz Nativity Scene Trail" again this year.
So this year at Christmas time there is the "Tölzer Krippenweg" for the third time - in the city center 61 different formats and shapes can be seen in the shop windows and churches.
In order to explain the enthusiasm of the citizens and guests, the city and its project partner, the Tölzer Krippenverein, recently invited the press to take a stroll along Marktstraße.
This is where most of the cribs on display are located.
Nativity scenes in shop windows are very popular
One thing is already certain: the "showcase event" should remain an integral part of the pre-Christmas period in the district town.
"It is very well received by the population," said town hall spokeswoman Birte Otterbach and went on to say: "A great addition to the Christmas market.
We will do it again next year.”
16 of the cribs on display come from the fund of members of the Tölz crib association, reported its chairman Wolfgang Friedl.
The other specimens come from the private collections of the participating shops.
And how different these are becomes apparent when the individual numbered stations are moved away from the bathing section, Marktstraße, im Gries and other places in the city.
In the passage of the Posthotel Kolberbräu is one of the larger specimens of the "Tölzer Krippenweg" - it is about six and a half meters long.

There is a lot to discover, the artistic palette ranges from traditional to modern, such as a nativity scene made of parchment paper (number 15), made of sponge (20) or polished ebony (34).
Exotic representations of African, Colombian and Moroccan as well as church annual nativity scenes are also included.
Even private households help shape the Tölzer Nativity Trail
Worth mentioning: This year, a private household took part for the first time;
At Graben 8, a window is decorated with a nativity scene.
And so spontaneously that it is no longer listed in the flyer that has already been printed.
In general, this year there was a higher demand "than we can serve," reports city manager Franziska Gschwandtner.
Citizens who want to take part next year should therefore contact the city administration in good time.
The city has published a flyer for the crib trail with an overview of all those involved.
