The MVV timetable in the district has been rearranged and thinned out, but should nevertheless, or perhaps because of this, be more efficient than before.

What bus and S-Bahn passengers have to consider from next Sunday.

District – The shortage of bus drivers will probably keep the district busy for a long time.

District Administrator Stefan Frey met around 30 fourth graders on Monday morning in the Pöckinger elementary school.

When he asked who had ever driven a bus, almost everyone answered.

Then Frey was interested in which of the children later wanted to be a bus driver.

Not a single hand went up.

Nevertheless, the Pöckinger students should identify with the new, hot off the press MVV district timetable.

This time they competed in the painting competition for the title picture on the 360-page brochure.

The winner is Elisa Haist.

Her picture, which she painted when she was still in third grade, shows an MVV bus winking with one eye and cheekily sticking out its tongue.

High mountains rise behind them, just as they can be seen from the district.

Frey congratulated little Elisa and emphasized: "The timetable book is actually sold like hot cakes, the beautiful design contributes to this, but also the great interest in the public transport offer."

Tickets are 6.9 percent more expensive on average

The pictures of the students Wolfgang Schmid (third place) and Hannah Steinmeyer (second place) were also awarded, they received book vouchers like Elisa.

Two Pöckinger classes each received a check for joint activities.

Frey said to Hannah: "Your bus is very modern, we don't have one in the district yet." The angular green vehicle is actually somewhat reminiscent of the autonomous buses that have already been tested in Bavaria.

The seat at the wheel in Hannah's picture is empty.

"The bus driver problem persists, but the situation has stabilized somewhat," said the district administrator when asked by Merkur.

In the meantime, twelve lines in the district were following the emergency timetable, but there are now fewer again.

The system has become more efficient as a result of some reallocations and thinning out the timetables.

The district will spend around 14 million euros on public transport in 2023.

When the timetable changes next Sunday, December 11, tickets will be an average of 6.9 percent more expensive.

That changes with the buses

26 regional bus lines, four express lines and two call taxis operate in the district.

The X970 express line will also stop between Starnberg and Wolfratshausen in Aufhausen, Oberbiberkor and Höhenrain.

The X900 express line from Starnberg via Gilching now stops again at Abt-Anselm-Straße in Fürstenfeldbruck.

The regional line 901 also stops at the depot, but initially only towards the city centre.

On line 906, the line branch between Gauting and Unterbrunn is omitted, the school trip at 11.35 a.m. from Gauting becomes part of line 966. In addition, the departures on Saturdays between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. are partially postponed, so that there is a bus between Planegg and Kraillinger at least once an hour Innovation Mile (KIM) drives.

All journeys on route 949 on Sundays will in future be five minutes later,

whereby in Gilching-Argelsried a direct connection from Fürstenfeldbruck (line X900) is offered every hour.

So that Starnberg high school students can get the bus after the sixth period, the departure of line 955 from Starnberg North on school days will be postponed from 12:37 p.m. to 12:57 p.m.

The Percha, St. Christophorus stop will serve lines 961 and 975 in the future. A better timed service between Planegg and the forest sanatorium in Krailling was desired: the journeys on line 966 will be postponed in the mornings.

That changes with the S-Bahn

"Numerous additional journeys, especially between Starnberg and Tutzing" promises the MVV for the S-Bahn line 6 - and thus a continuous 20-minute cycle from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. between Tutzing and Grafing.

In the future, more trains will run on the S8 between Weßling and Herrsching, and here too there should be a continuous 20-minute cycle from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the entire line.

“In addition, the S-Bahn ensures more stable operation with optimized vehicle deployment.

On several lines, delays can be better reduced in the future through longer turnaround times," says the press release on the timetable change.

The MVV timetable book

is available free of charge from all municipal administrations, MVV sales points, in the Starnberg and Herrsching tourist offices, in shops and in the district office from next week.

The book, the mini timetables and information brochures can be downloaded online at www.lk-starnberg/BestellungstoolOEPNV.
