Berlin – The time has come for the first of January: the new citizens' allowance is launched.
This means that recipients of basic security can look forward to a little more money in their accounts.
The standard rate increases with the Hartz IV reform from 449 euros per month to 502 euros per month.
Social associations still criticize this amount as too low.
The sum would just be enough to survive – at the end of the month, many people are running out.

The standard rate of citizen income is intended to cover all costs incurred, from food and clothing to leisure and electricity.
