Waakirchen – The Waakirchen housing association (WBW-KU) has been active since 2015.

The organization has appointed Luitpold Grabmeyer as full-time managing director.

From January 1st, Luitpold Grabmeyer, former financial expert at Kreissparkasse Miesbach-Tegernsee, will be in charge of the fortunes of the housing association full-time.

Professionalization and profitability are necessary so that the WBW-KU can master the great challenges of the future.

With the appointment of Luitpold Grabmeyer as managing director of the municipal company, the course is set for this.

"We are pleased that in Luitpold Grabmeyer we have been able to gain an experienced expert who is very close to the community as a board member for our housing association," says Norbert Kerkel, Mayor of Waakirchen.

The company's well-known projects include the new fire station in Waakirchen and the community center in Schaftlach.

For the future, WBW-KU has set itself the goal of creating affordable living space and helping to develop energy solutions. "Housing construction in particular will continue to keep WBW-KU very busy in the coming years, as it affects so many important areas," said Grabmeyer "You need affordable housing so that people can continue to live in the village and don't have to move away".

It doesn't matter whether it's young people who want to move into their first apartment or seniors who can no longer or don't want to live alone in an apartment that is too large.

The apartments are not only built by the WBW-KU, but usually also operated.

"Investments in our living space are also investments in our labor market," Grabmeyer explained.

Apartments help to locate much-needed professionals of all kinds in the community.

In addition, the housing association wants to counteract the current predatory competition in the housing market, since as a municipal company it is in close coordination with the administrative and municipal council.

The main goal of the WBW-KU is very clear: to preserve the rural character of the community.
