The Nuremberg gourmet restaurant "Essigbrätlein" is taking action.

If you don't cancel your reservation in time, you have to expect a hefty fine.

Nuremberg – It is always annoying for restaurant owners when guests do not show up despite reservations and do not cancel in advance.

A gourmet restaurant in Nuremberg no longer wants to put up with this - and demands a fine if you don't show up.

And she has the talent.

If you are unable to attend a reserved appointment, the restaurant asks you to cancel in writing.

Cancellation must be made 24 hours before the planned visit.

"In the event of a later cancellation or no-show, we allow ourselves to charge a fee of €100.00 per person," says the restaurant's website.

The operator

infranken.de explains the reasons for this step.

It has often happened in the past that guests simply did not show up.

"That's about 100 guests a year."

The restaurant had therefore suffered financial losses.

"The idea is not so much that we write an invoice, but that we

Want to build up pressure.” The restaurateurs have already had to issue one or the other bill.

Nuremberg "Essigbrätlein" relies on regional products - with lots of vegetables

The restaurant uses regional products for its menus.

This “limitation” is understood as a creative challenge.

"In 2008 we said goodbye to the classic ingredients of top gastronomy, such as foie gras, in order to focus more on vegetables," says the website.

For example, a 4-course meal in the evening costs 165 euros, and you can get a 7-course meal for 195 euros.
