– The time of corona hairstyles has actually been history since the end of the last lockdown.

Nevertheless, Martina Ettstaller and her two colleagues had to deal with one or the other mat during the charity haircut in the conference room of the Gmund town hall.

One of her customers hasn't gone to the hairdresser since May because of her campaign, says Ettstaller.

She even photographed the pile of hair on the floor afterwards.

"It looked like we sheared a sheep."

1200 euros for "Readers help readers"

The hairdresser from Gmund did not count the total amount of "wool" down to the gram.

But how many donors she and her colleagues had on the chair between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.: a proud 45. The proceeds are also impressive: 1653 euros.

The charity haircut took place for the 28th time.

Actually, this year would have been an anniversary, explains the master hairdresser, but because of Corona, two years had to be suspended.

According to Ettstaller, the fact that this time was particularly exciting was due to a colleague's herniated disc.

But a spontaneous call for help was successful: Roswitha Leichmann, salon owner from Bad Wiessee, stepped in despite her shoulder operation not long ago.

Together with Gila Karasu, who has been involved in the campaign from the very beginning, and Erika Handrick, who traditionally takes care of all the work apart from comb and scissors, the tight workload was once again well managed.

However, there is also a tradition here that washing is not possible due to the lack of a tap and sink.

Ettstaller says that almost ended the spontaneous visit to neighboring Meier Bäck.

"He had gel in his hair." But after a few minutes in the town hall toilet, he too was ready for the comb and scissors - and afterwards thanked the entire team with quark balls.

And the celebrities on the chair?

District administrator Olaf von Löwis and Gmund's mayor Alfons Besel let their hair grow extra long this year, reports Ettstaller.

In order to spare the President of the Landtag Ilse Aigner an involuntary short haircut, she used her curling iron.

Aigner was then able to wear the new hairstyle at a private evening appointment.
