The presence of bicycle parking lots, some of which are closed and secure, is the condition for promoting "train-bicycle" intermodality, which is still underdeveloped.
This Wednesday, Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) is voting for a new tranche of 1,800 spaces, deployed in 22 stations and train and RER stations.
"Île-de-France Mobilités is pursuing its objective of offering Ile-de-France residents 140,000 places around its network by 2030", underlines the authority in charge of transport.
The new facilities concern stations such as Vincennes, Athis-Mons, Chaville-Rive-Gauche, Chilly-Mazarin, Étampes, Fontenay-le-Fleury, Gennevilliers, Ivry-sur-Seine, Meudon, Orly-Ville, Sèvres-Rive- Left or Villeneuve-le-Roi.
Free secure places for Navigo subscribers
A budget of 4.6 million euros is devoted to these future projects.
This new step completes the files already voted and financed.
“10,400 spaces have already been deployed in 193 stations and stations in Île-de-France.
More than 7,000 places are already programmed and financed”, to which are added these 1,785 additional in 22 stations and stations decided this Wednesday.
The open-access “IDFM Bicycle Parking lots” are free for everyone.
The closed and secure lockers are free for all annual subscribers to the transport network (annual Navigo, senior annual Navigo, student and school Imagine'R).
For others, a rate of 30 euros per year, 10 euros per month or 4 euros per day is applied.
For the past few months, a single portal has made it possible to reserve a place in one of the lockers located in SNCF stations.
