Campus M University has been supporting our newspaper's aid projects for more than ten years.

And everyone always helps together: students, professors and sponsors.

Together against poverty

Poverty can affect anyone.

Suddenly and everywhere.

With our aid campaign "Together against poverty" we would like to support people in poverty, especially families from Ukraine who had to leave their homeland because of the war - together with the "Münchner Tafel" here and with Unicef on site.

Without the commitment of volunteers, the help would not work.

At the Münchner Tafel alone, 800 volunteers work six days a week.

At Unicef, the helpers in Munich and in the Ukraine as well as in neighboring countries try to alleviate the suffering of the children as best they can.

You can read here what social commitment can look like.

“Social responsibility is practiced during studies at Campus M University.

We have a long tradition of supporting Unicef, but campaigns for the “Münchner Tafel” are now also an integral part of our social commitment.

What inspires me is how much heart and soul our students put into their charity projects,” explains boss Prof. Heinrich Wiedemann.

That's why he has now taken a day off for the "Buy-1-More" campaign of the "Münchner Tafel" together with students and Oliver Voss, the lecturer at Campus M University.

Here's how you can donate

With your donation - no matter how small - you support the tz aid campaign "Together against poverty" in favor of the Munich food bank and Unicef.

In concrete terms, the proceeds go to people who, despite all their own efforts, are dependent on help in Munich, especially families from the Ukraine who had to leave their homeland from one moment to the next with nothing.

And to needy children and families on site who need support so urgently in Ukraine and neighboring countries, especially now in winter.

Together with our partners and you, dear readers, we would like to help both here, right on our doorstep, and in Ukraine.

Poverty can affect anyone.

No matter where.

Through war, through personal strokes of fate.

Therefore: Please support our relief campaign with your donation.

Social Days are now regularly held by companies at distribution points or the Buy 1 More campaign.

With success.

The university community alone was able to fill 30 boxes on their day at Lidl and the drugstore dm in Kistlerhofstrasse.

"Most of the customers were there straight away and were won over by the concept of the Münchner Tafel anyway," says Oliver Voss.

Just like the Campus M University, which will certainly soon be back at the table as a helper.

But this year, too, people aren't the only ones to lend a hand.

But also generously donated: 5000 euros go to the tz campaign for Unicef.

"This is also a matter of the heart," says Prof. Wiedemann.

Many thanks for that!!!!

It doesn't matter if you have a lot or little time - every helper is welcome.

"We are happy about any support" - A wide range of offers at the Unicef working group in Munich

When you think of volunteering at Unicef, the first thing that probably comes to mind is selling greeting cards.

Distributed throughout the city and in the Oberland, volunteers look after the stands with Christmas cards.

One who has worked for Unicef for over 20 years is Dr.

Heide Schulte.

Together with other Uniceflers, she has been in charge of the stand at Karstadt on Münchner Freiheit since 2004.

Greeting cards have been around there for 36 years.

"It's important for me that I can be really active," says Heide Schulte.

At www.muenchen.unicef.de, the Munich working group has listed all the dates and places where Christmas cards can be bought this year, including, for example, which Christmas markets the children's charity is represented at.

"We are always happy to receive support," says Ursula Auginski, head of the Munich working group.

Even with very small contributions you can achieve a lot, for example with your own small collection of donations.

For the Ukraine emergency aid, the UNICEF working group distributed over 100 donation boxes to helpers.

Ursula Auginski: "Every contribution sends a sign of solidarity and goes down well with the children."

The Munich working group consists of different teams.

There is a suitable task for everyone.

One prefers organizing, the other informs about events.

There is no age limit for getting involved at Unicef.

Even kindergarten children collect for other children in the world who are not doing as well as they are.

For example, the youngsters receive support from the children's rights campaign team of the Munich working group when it comes to filling the donation cans with a school run.

There is also a junior team for young helpers.

Around 180,000 euros in donations have so far been raised for the Ukraine aid.

"A record result in our history of school runs," says Andrea Wüst, head of the campaign team.

In the meantime, there is not only the school runs, but also a similar project in which children read for children and at the same time strengthen their own reading skills.
