In addition, XBB and BQ.1.1 imported cases each increased by one, and XBB and BQ.1.1 local cases also increased by six.

There were 11,981 new confirmed cases in Hong Kong today, 11,278 were local cases, and 703 were imported cases, accounting for 5.87% of the total cases, 1.41 percentage points lower than the previous day.
Among the newly imported cases, 447 involved samples tested at the airport, 204 involved samples from days 1 to 3, and the remaining 52 cases involved samples from days 4 to 7.
The number of arrivals at the airport reached 16,950 yesterday, and the rate of confirmed cases was 4.15%.
The seven-day average number of confirmed cases was 641, a new high since 0+3, and the seven-day average diagnosis rate was 4.01%.
Among the samples received by the Public Health Laboratory Service of the Department of Health for verification tests for local cases from November 28 to December 4, the Omicron variant virus strain BA.2.12.1 and BA.4/BA.5 substrains (including Suspected cases) accounted for 0% and about 66.8% respectively.

As of 00:00 on December 7, the Public Health Laboratory Service Office of the Department of Health found 226 cases of XBB, six cases of XBD, eight cases of BA.2.75.2, seven cases of BA.4.6, and 13 cases of BF.7 among the imported cases in Hong Kong and 37 cases of BQ.1.1 subseries, and a total of 116 cases of XBB, 18 cases of XBD, one case of BA.2.75.2, four cases of BF.7 and 126 cases of BQ.1.1 subseries were found in local cases.
XBB and BQ.1.1 imported cases each increased by one, while XBB and BQ.1.1 local cases each increased by three.
In terms of schools, 920 schools reported 2,100 new cases today, and 18 classes in 18 schools were required to suspend classes for 7 days.
In terms of nursing homes, 27 homes reported that 47 elderly people and 5 staff members were diagnosed, and 64 residents were listed as close contacts who needed to be quarantined.
The Hospital Authority received 20 newly reported death cases, involving 12 males and 8 females, aged between 61 and 101, and 4 of them were from institutions.
In terms of injections, 1 person has had 4 injections, 10 people have received 3 injections, 2 people have received 2 injections, 2 people have received 1 injection, and the remaining 5 people have no injection records.
