The MTR announced that the service between Kowloon Tong and Sha Tin Station on the East Rail Line will be suspended. The train between Admiralty and Kowloon Tong Station will be maintained every 6 minutes, and the train between Sha Tin and Sheung Shui Station will be maintained every 6 minutes.
MTR is arranging free shuttle buses to run from Kowloon Tong to Sha Tin Station.
MTR urges passengers to consider using other means of transportation.
Based on past experience, it is estimated that it takes about 45 to 60 minutes to deal with such incidents.
Passengers please consider using Kwun Tong Line to interchange with Tuen Ma Line.
According to the police, a man fell off the track in the direction of Sheung Shui from Tai Wai Station, and rescuers were on the scene to assist.
By 11:17 a.m., the man was rescued by firefighters, and he was confirmed dead after examination.
After the accident, there was a queue of people at Sha Tin Station. The platform and bus stops outside the station were crowded with people. Some passengers took other buses, and some people were waiting for the MTR feeder bus.
