Ebersberg wants to step on the gas when it comes to using renewable energies.

Wind turbines are needed.

But where should they stand?

A direction is indicated.

Ebersberg

– 565 hectares, 13 percent of the city area in Ebersberg are principally available for the use of wind power.

This was determined by the city planners and landscape architects from Nuremberg commissioned by the city of Ebersberg as part of the potential survey.

This was preceded by the city council's decision to continue pursuing the variant with the best distances from the options proposed by the planners (900 m to purely residential areas and 600 m to general residential areas).

Planners see opportunities in three areas

The planners now see opportunities for wind turbines in three areas: in the south-east of the city, between the districts of Rinding, Englmeng, Traxl and Pollmoos (Area A), in the north of Ebersberg/Ebersberger Forest (Area B) and in the south-west of the city, north and south the B 304 (area C).

Since the landscape should also be taken into account - the area around Lake Egglburg in particular needs to be protected - the city councilors have now spoken out in favor of giving priority to areas A (Ebersberg south-east) and B (Ebersberg north) for the implementation of wind power projects to take into account.

Area C (Ebersberg Südwest) for wind turbines should only be considered if these areas are not suitable for wind power use due to “unforeseeable conflicting interests” or the areas are not sufficient.

Areas are reported to the planning association

Next step: according to the decided priority, the suitable wind energy areas should now be reported to the regional planning association.

He has taken on the task of reporting appropriate areas to the federal government.

According to the planners, the concern expressed by some city councilors that these areas might no longer be “plannable” in any other way is unfounded.
