No offense to the fools who stain his statues in England or the ignoramuses who compare him to Hitler (hence the idea of this new essay by Roberts on Hitler and Churchill) the British Prime Minister is a sacred monster: whatever the angle that we choose to apprehend his character, he continues to captivate.
How could it be otherwise for a man who has had so many lives in one?
Of course, everyone knows the story of his confrontation with Hitler, and Roberts devotes several chapters to it.
Churchill would not have become himself without this titanic struggle in which the fate of the world was played out.
