Human rights violations are the price paid for feeling safe in El Salvador, says activist

The emergency regime decreed last March is still in force in El Salvador, and has already left more than 59,000 detainees, according to the authorities.

The move has not been without controversy.

The organizations Human Rights Watch and Cristosal will publish a report on human rights violations allegedly committed by the security forces since the implementation of this regime.
