“No to the rise of the Navigo”.

“Money for public transport”.

“We are not cattle”.

Armed with placards and flags, several hundred people gathered this Wednesday morning in front of the regional hotel, in Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis), at the call of the left-wing regional opposition (PCF, LFI , EELV, PS) and the CGT.

At the same time, the board of directors of Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), the authority in charge of transport, is meeting.

The latter must vote on its 2023 budget and record the increase in the price of the Navigo pass by 11.8%, or 84.10 euros per month, from January 1, 2023.

30,000 signatures for the “Stop the galley” petition

Opposed to this surge, members of the regional opposition to Valérie Pécresse (LR) presented the 30,000 signatures collected by a petition entitled "Stop the Galley", demanding a return to the transport offer at 100%, without evolution tariffs.

Many Ile-de-France parliamentarians from Nupes were present.

In turn, the spokespersons denounced “an increase which was avoidable”, if the employers had participated more via the mobility payment.

With the contribution of 200 million euros from the State granted at the last minute, "this increase amounts to making users pay twice, as users and as taxpayers", denounced Vianney Orjebin, president of the LFI group on the regional council.

The representatives of the regional left (LFI, PCF, EELV, PS), presented the 30,000 signatures collected by the petition "Stop la Galère".

Tuesday evening, members of the Macronist opposition to the regional council pinned the management of President LR.

“Today, faced with the urgency and poor management of Valérie Pécresse, the State has therefore decided once again to intervene by paying Île-de-France Mobilités additional and immediate aid of 200 million euros. euros, they write in a press release.

This substantial amount will make it possible to ensure the continuity of transport in our region and also to protect the purchasing power of Ile-de-France residents: it is therefore thanks to the State that the Navigo pass will increase less than what Valérie Pécresse wanted to do and when she had always promised the opposite".
