A wreck has been recovered on Lake Starnberg - at least the sailing boat found near Tutzing was missing the mast and important parts.
Now the authorities are asked - and the population.
Tutzing
– A junk boat floating on Lake Starnberg near Tutzing is currently a mystery to the water rescue service and the authorities.
It is unclear who owns the wrecked boat.
On Saturday, the Tutzing water rescue service had salvaged the old cabin boat from the Karpfenwinkel – the bay between Tutzing and Höhenried.
During a work assignment by the rapid response group, the volunteers noticed the boat that no longer had a mast, cleats or railings had been cut out of the hull - the boat was a wreck.
Cleats are the devices used to tie a boat to the jetty with ropes.
From a distance, the lifeguards couldn't tell if there was anyone on the boat, so they checked.
Because of the current Ramsar agreement to protect wintering waterfowl, as few vehicles as possible should drive on the lake, the water rescue service explained, a troop had driven slowly through the Karpfenwinkel.
In order to affect the spawning protection area there as little as possible,
Even the lifeguards have problems belaying
The boat is now lying on the rescue pier of the water rescue service, while the further procedure is being clarified with the district office.
Securing was not so easy because of the missing parts: "How was the owner able to secure this boat," asks Robert Lettenbauer, Chairman of the Tutzing Water Rescue Service.
"Because without cleats or fittings on the boat, we also have problems with them."
The water rescue service in Tutzing is asking the population for help: Does anyone recognize this boat or can anyone provide information about the owner or where it was probably on a jetty?
