Holzkirchen – The Holzkirchen local and transport planning committee recently voted on eleven individual points for the planned conversion of the market town’s market square.

At the meeting of the local and traffic planning committee in Holzkirchen, the planning area was specified, which now no longer considers the Herder Garden, but continues to look at the property of the Catholic Church.

There was no majority to include the replanning of the crossing area.

With the reduction of the construction phase, a timely implementation should be easier to implement.

The area primarily under consideration for the competition is now approximately 4700 square meters.

As Mayor Christoph Schmid said before the consultation, the resolutions are only recommendations, and the market council must ultimately decide on them.

As Isabella Britze from the Holzkirchner building authority said, internal discussions have shown that it would be better to consider the Herdergarten as a separate project and to remove it from the market square plans.

The challenges of finding optimal solutions for the spring festival, for example, would be too great given the time and financial requirements.

This was then approved by the board.

There was agreement that the church area should also be considered.

However, according to the meeting draft, the parish has already signaled that it will not be able to provide any money for this in the near future.

Britze presented the redesign of the approximately 2,100 square meter crossing area at the Münchner, Tegernseer and Tölzer Strasse as critical. This would depend on the approval of the Rosenheim road construction authority and would probably have to be financed completely by the market community.

"Let's forget that, we're going from the hundredth to the thousandth.

Let's concentrate on what's feasible," said Josef Sappl jun.

(CSU).

With the exception of his parliamentary group colleagues Christoph Schmid and Johannes Dörder, the eight-strong committee saw it the same way when voting.

The committee also disagreed about the complete elimination of the parking spaces in the competition area.

With the exception of Peter Gerhold and Hubert Müller (both FWG) the majority liked it.

However, the proposal to close the street in front of the town hall, which connects the Herdergarten and the Münchner Straße, did not go through.

With Daniela Kiderlen and Martin Quaderer (both Greens), this found only two advocates.

There was no doubt that as many trees as possible worth preserving should be left standing and that the location of the Abbot Kaspar Fountain

is immovable.

However, the location of the maypole can be chosen flexibly in the competition, as long as it is in the planning area.

The majority also recommended that the war memorial, with its function as a memorial, should be placed on the market square.

Finally, the unanimous recommendation to the market town council was made to leave the selection of the judges and the set participant offices to the administration with the support of the competition supervisor and to fill the judges' committee with one representative from each of the parliamentary groups.
