Today, the People's Assembly held its twenty-eighth session of the seventh regular session of the third legislative session, headed by Hamouda Sabbagh, Speaker of the Assembly, where the Minister of State for People's Assembly Affairs Abdullah Abdullah gave a presentation on the most important issues and decisions taken by the Council of Ministers in its two previous sessions.

In their interventions, a number of council members called for increasing interest in the agricultural sector by expanding the area of ​​land allocated to strategic crops such as wheat, buying it from the farmer at remunerative prices, and securing production requirements at reduced prices, especially fertilizers and fodder, to encourage livestock breeders and secure the necessary fuel for storage and marketing refrigerators.

The members called for completing the distribution of the first batch of domestic diesel for heating, especially in colder areas such as Qalamoun, and for tightening control over fuel stations in the liberated areas, reaffirming the need for optimal investment of resources and capabilities, and simplifying the provision of services to citizens in a way that saves them time, effort and money.

The members stressed the need to expedite the successful start of the central competition for their work in the agencies in which they were appointed and contracted, and to increase compensation for journalists, and not count it among the incentives and rewards, and to expedite the study and approval of compensation for nursing staff, and to stimulate civil societies to expand their activities with initiatives that contribute to reducing financial burdens. Finding families most in need, and finding solutions to secure access for public sector employees to their workplaces.

In his response to the members' interventions, Minister Abdullah confirmed that fertilizer, despite its high price, is still subsidized by the government at an amount of one million pounds per ton, indicating that the percentage of distribution of the first batch of heating diesel at the governorate level reached 41 percent, stressing that the rest of the interventions It will be answered in writing.

In turn, the Chairman of the Council stressed the necessity of transferring all questions, proposals and proposals submitted by the members to the relevant ministries and public authorities to follow them up and to provide the Council with answers to them in writing and as quickly as possible.

The Council also approved by the majority to refer the draft law that includes the amendment of Article 40 of Legislative Decree No. 43 of 2005 regulating the activities of the insurance sector to the Financial Laws Committee of the Council to study an issue and prepare the necessary report on it, after approving the report of the Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee on its constitutional permissibility. .

The meeting was adjourned to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
