two residents of Holon and Bat Yam, in their thirties, were arrested today (Wednesday) on suspicion of attacking a bus driver near Livna, after an argument developed between them and the driver.
The Yavne station police opened an investigation yesterday, at the end of which it will be decided whether to extend the arrest of the suspects.

This week, the bus drivers' organization from the National Histadrut published the annual violence report at the 2022 public transportation conference.
According to the report, until the month of November 2022, there were approximately 4,400 cases of physical or verbal assaults against the drivers while harming their personal safety. According to the data in 2022, 41% of bus drivers in Israel experienced at least one physical assault during the past year. Approximately 17 % of the drivers reported that they had experienced three or more incidents of violence in the past year.
Compared to the drivers' organization report released in January 2021, there is no difference in percentages in the number of drivers who were physically attacked, but the number of attacks increased significantly due to the increase in bus travel after the Corona crisis.
