Poisoned father in need of care with "sour Lüngerl": Bavarian woman and daughter have to go to prison

An extraordinary case was recently heard before the district court in Traunstein: A 55-year-old was accused here together with her daughter (30) of murdering her husband.

Now the verdict.

Traunstein – A particularly perfidious case was last heard before the Traunstein district court: A 55-year-old was accused of killing her husband (75), who needed care, together with her daughter (30).

The murder weapon was an overdose of drugs, with which they poisoned the man.

They mixed the drug with his favorite dish - sour Lüngerl.

The woman has now been sentenced to life imprisonment.

The judgment was initially not final.

Prosecutors saw greed as the motive.

However, the presiding judge disagreed.

"Their goal was to protect the family," he said on Wednesday.

The woman's daughter and granddaughter of the victim, who was also accused, was sentenced to four years in prison for attempted murder by omission.

Because of a dispute about her father's property, the woman is said to have poisoned his favorite food more than a year ago.

At the time, her daughter lived in the apartment above her grandfather's and was responsible for his care and support.

The close living together has led to more and more tension, said the judge, the grandfather wanted the daughter and her husband to move out.

On the other hand, according to the court, the mother wanted to take action.

The daughter noticed the crime, but did not intervene.

Woman sentenced to life imprisonment for murder

After the 75-year-old's death, other relatives of the victim filed a complaint because they suspected the man could have died of unnatural causes.

The body was then exhumed.

The chamber does not assume an agreement between mother and daughter, it said when the verdict was announced, reports chiemgau24.de (Plus article).

It was an "almost perfect murder", the prosecutor claimed in his closing argument on Monday (December 5).

He accused the mother of murder from base motives and insidiousness.

In addition, it is assumed that the guilt is particularly serious.

The daughter held the public prosecutor credited with a partial confession and demanded a prison sentence of seven years.

The defense asked for an acquittal for the mother and a six-month suspended sentence for the daughter.
