Officers from the Kowloon City Police District and the Traffic Department of Kowloon West Region conducted a joint operation yesterday (6th) to enforce the law at various traffic black spots in the district.

The operation mainly targets illegal behaviors that pose danger to road users and cause obstruction, including violations and illegal parking in restricted areas, bus stops and zebra crossings.


During the operation, officers issued a total of 1,870 fixed penalty notices, mainly involving illegal parking, and immediately towed away 13 illegally parked vehicles that caused serious obstruction.

In addition, officers also issued 16 summonses to prosecute traffic offenses involving cyclists or pedestrians, including prosecuting pedestrians for crossing the road in disobedience to traffic lights.

The police also use mobile video recording to enforce the law and strengthen the crackdown on drivers' irresponsible driving behavior and attitude.


The Police appeal to motorists to refrain from illegal parking for temporary convenience to ensure the smooth flow of the road and the safety of road users.
