Sarah Engels' mother celebrates her son-in-law Julian online: is she handing it out to Pietro?

She gives her daughter's husband a touching message.

But fans think they also read criticism of Pietro Lombardi.

Cologne – For a long time, Sarah Engels (30) and Pietro Lombardi (30) were considered one of the absolute dream couples in the German celebrity world.

After their participation in "Deutschland sucht den Superstar", where they competed against each other in a live final for eternity, their lives were inseparable and whoever spoke of Sarah undoubtedly also mentioned Pietro in the next sentence.

But the love happiness of the two should not last - in 2016 they announced their separation after bad affair rumors and at the latest since Sarah has borne her old surname again, the former DSDS royal couple is finally passé.

Even if their relationship was not forever, Sarah and her ex are connected by a very important person: son Alessio (7).

And when it comes to love, everything has been going well for the two of them for a long time.

Sarah has been happily married to footballer Julian Engels (29) since 2021, with whom she has their daughter Solea (1), and Pietro is expecting children very soon with his fiancée Laura Maria-Rypa (26).

All's well that ends well.

To express to her new son-in-law how great she thinks he is, Sarah's mother Sonja Strano shared a snapshot with the likeable athlete on Instagram.

"Sometimes you meet a person who has a pure soul and you know they're making something good out of something better," she captioned the shot, which shows her beaming at the camera alongside Sarah's lover.

Julian seems to be very happy about the warm words and replies with emotion: "Thank you for taking me in like your own son, I couldn't imagine a better mother-in-law."

"Never allow it anymore": Sarah Engels' mother praises Julian – but fans recognize criticism of Pietro

It's a heartwarming post that Sonja shares on the image platform, but her euphoric message also sounds a bit sad.

"I love you, my son-in-law, even though I thought I'd never be able to allow it anymore," writes the woman from Cologne, "Thank you for being my daughter's husband and the father and stepfather of my grandchildren." Julian already has a great dad off, but how does Pietro Lombardi feel with so much love for his ex-wife's husband?

Sarah Engels and Pietro Lombardi seemed inseparable for a long time.

But in 2016 the happiness of the former DSDS finalists broke.

Sarah is now on cloud nine with her sweetheart Julian.

Some fans of the former DSDS winner think they have read between the lines and write a few indignant comments under the photo.

"I find Sonja's post totally inappropriate towards Pietro," complains a follower of the singer, while another has only one conclusion: "Ouch".

Most of them join Sonja's enthusiasm anyway and really celebrate Julian.

"The best proof that after every rain comes sunshine again," cheers an Instagram user, "Julian is the icing on the cake."

Even if Sarah and Pietro have gone their separate ways for a long time, the loyal fans of the two vocal wonders can at least be happy that both have long been in the great family happiness again and are firmly anchored on cloud nine with their dream partners.

However, her love doesn't seem to be over yet, because Pietro Lombardi recently made a clear announcement against Sarah Engels.
