With 14 cousins, the Rampas could almost set up a rugby team.
But it was on another playground - that of the family business, created by their great-grandfather Giovanni Rampa in 1925 - that five of them decided to play.
The Rampa group, which employs 600 people, has some great achievements to its credit, such as the concrete facing of the Hérault Departmental Archives, designed by Zaha Hadid, or the laying of 140 km of buried pipes for the BRL irrigation network in Occitania region.
Serge Rampa, who had succeeded Giovanni in 1952, as president of the La Voulte Sportif club, had led him to the title of French champion in 1970. Father of five children, he had also formed, for his company, a team family with his boys: Jean, Pierre, Marc and Philippe.
