2022-12-07T06:27:43.090Z

After the publication of the plan in "Israel Hayom", the text of the section on Torah Judaism is published • The party agreed that the Likud would propose its own text - but they have not yet received an answer

The gender separation clause that the ultra-orthodox parties demand in the coalition negotiations was revealed. However, in Torah Judaism they also agreed to accept another version that the Likud would propose.

With the start of the coalition negotiations, it was published in "Israel Hayom" about the demand of the ultra-Orthodox and the religious Zionists to include in the coalition agreements an anchoring in legislation that would allow gender separation in public events of the religious and ultra-Orthodox sectors, and this would not be considered discrimination.

Israel Hayom has now learned the wording of the section that appears in the draft requirements of Torah Judaism regarding gender segregation.

It should be noted that Torah Judaism agreed to accept a different version of the clause from the Likud, and now, after the positions have been closed, Torah Judaism's negotiation teams are waiting for answers on the matter from the Likud.

The wording of the section in the draft requirements reads: "Within 90 days, the government will amend the law in such a way that it will be possible to provide public services, studies, events, etc. separately for men and women, this separation will not constitute discrimination according to the law.

Also, the option in the law to file a civil lawsuit without proof of damage or a class action for segregation on religious grounds will be abolished."

Another demand of Torah Judaism is to stipulate in an amendment to the law that any publisher may refuse to publish content that harms its readers, as well as adapt government ministry publications to the ultra-orthodox public.

The purpose of the section is to anchor a possibility in which a body that publishes content to the ultra-orthodox public can avoid content that does not fit the values of the public that consumes it, including content that the same body has determined to be "immodest".

The wording of the section reads: "The government will support the amendment of the law, according to which any newspaper or publisher will be allowed to refuse to publish an advertisement that harms its readers. Also, the government's publications will be adapted to the ultra-orthodox sector."
