The Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabaa, confirmed that Law No. (45) issued today aims to support the educational process, and encourage workers in educational positions in schools and educational complexes in remote and semi-remote places, as they bear additional burdens.
The Minister of Education stated, in a statement to SANA reporter, that the percentage stipulated in Legislative Decree No. 28 of 2020 has been amended to almost double, in addition to introducing administrative workers in educational complexes and schools, “meaning that everyone who works in remote and semi-remote areas now has additional compensation according to the law.” .
He pointed out that the compensation included in the law will contribute to encouraging many workers to work in these areas, especially since there is today a large migration from these areas to the cities and areas where teachers live.
Regarding the mechanism for identifying remote and semi-remote places, Minister Tabbaa explained that according to specific rules in coordination with the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment, and at the request of the education directorates, a shortage of teachers will be determined in a number of the rural areas of the governorates that teachers suffer from, as they can be included in semi-remote places. As for remote places, they are limited to the rural areas of the governorates of Aleppo, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor.
And he continued: “We put Al-Hasakah alone, because we included the center of the province because of the prevailing conditions in it as a result of the control of the “Qasad” militia, supported by the American occupation forces, over large areas of it, so they were considered remote areas and covered by the law.”
