Although only 15 of the 76 members of the Peitinger Tourist Office accepted the invitation to the annual general meeting, there was still a lot of information and the board had to be re-elected.

Peiting

- annual general meeting at the Peitinger Tourist Office: After the welcome by the chairman Ralf Benning, cashier Andrea Deibler explained the cash report for 2021. She then went into the list of hosts for the years 2021 and 2022.

The tourist office took over the 4500 euros for the entries of all Peitingen hosts in order to support them in the pandemic.

However, they will have to pay for the 2023/2024 entries themselves. The Pfaffenwinkel Tourist Association will probably only decide in 2024 whether there will be a printed directory afterwards.

According to Andrea Deibler, there are "still the old-fashioned guests" who like to "take something away in printed form".

Serenade am Gumpen was a complete success

"We were brave," said Chairman Ralf Benning afterwards, recalling the serenade at the Gumpen in Peiting.

Shortly before it started on July 30 of this year, there was thunder not far from Peiting.

The thunderstorm passed, however, and so after two years of the Corona compulsory break, the six participating music groups were able to prepare a beautiful musical evening for the numerous visitors who flocked to the venue.

Benning also informed about the distribution of the 1150 euros donated by the visitors of the serenade to the groups.

"They were all satisfied and thanked them," he recalled.

Over 30 hosts and 330 beds

The dahlia summer, which was held for the first time 20 years ago, delighted locals and guests alike again this year on more than 60 square meters throughout the village.

It is financed by donations.

The more than 30 hosts in Peiting have a total capacity of almost 330 beds.

All are registered in the information and reservation system "Secra".

The tourist office pays the annual fee of 535 euros for using the system.

Not all, but more and more hosts use the online booking option.

Two-thirds of the bed capacity is contributed by commercial providers, the rest by private landlords.

In 2021, with 30,557 overnight stays, there was an increase of 13 percent compared to the first Corona year 2020. "With 11,029 arrivals, guests spent an average of 2.8 days in the market town," says Benning.

Good news from the mayor

Andrea Deibler reported that the “PeitingMobil” had already been enthusiastically used by some holidaymakers.

For Peiting's Mayor Peter Ostenrieder, the e-cars are an attractive asset for residents and guests alike.

The head of the town hall had more good information ready for the tourist office: "We are already relatively well positioned," he said on the subject of charging stations for electric cars.

A 150 KW station will soon be added.

"We would be the first," he said in view of the high wattage.

The view of the tourist board

The time without e-bike rentals in Peiting should soon be over, as a bicycle dealer in Schongau is expanding to Peiting and will then also be offering bikes for rental there.

The managing director of the Pfaffenwinkel tourism association, Susanne Lengger, also had a lot to report to the Peiting tourist office.

The main criteria for the guests are that you can charge your electric car, bring your dog with you and be barrier-free, she stated very factually.

There is a positive development in the numbers in Pfaffenwinkel: According to your assessment, the effects of Corona seem to have been overcome.

The question now is how the shortage of skilled workers, the rise in energy prices and inflation will affect tourism.

She warned that the increased costs should be taken into account when setting prices, since prices that are too low “will not make it into the future” and this would result in a downward spiral.

After all, one must also be able to make investments in the future.

The new board

During the election, Mayor Peter Ostenrieder acted as election officer.

He reminded that the regulations allow the board of directors to be elected collectively if everyone agrees.

And since nobody had spoken out against a closed election, the old one has now also been elected to the new board.

In person and function, these were and are for another three years Ralf Benning as chairman, Elli Stich as second chairman, Barbara Hirschvogel-Vicario as secretary, Andrea Deibler as cashier and Lydia Geiß and Rainer Schäffler as assessors.

However, there was a new name: Andrea Salzmann was elected as the third assessor.
