Mexx spent two years at the Nuremberg animal shelter.
Now he finally found a new family.
One employee is overjoyed.
Nuremberg – "We did it": With these words, animal shelter employee Tina Wessel begins her emotional Facebook post.
Her beloved Mexx could finally move to a new home - after 2.5 years in the shelter.
"In March you would have been at the animal shelter for 2 years and I was afraid that we would have to spend the sad anniversary together, as well as the rest of the years." Starting with the bulldog at the Nuremberg animal shelter was not easy, after three weeks the two were however, become a team.

Happy ending for bulldog Mexx: "I knew they were your people!"
"You screwed up quite a bit in the past," says Wessel.
"Since your owner was unfortunately not capable, you had to wear a muzzle and a leash." No inquiries were received for the American bulldog either.
Then, a few weeks ago, things finally turned around: a couple came and asked for Mexx.
"I knew these were your humans!"
Mexx and animal shelter employee Tina were a dream team.

After getting to know each other, the couple from the district of Ansbach wanted to play it safe and sleep on it.
"Which is absolutely right," Wessel recalls.
"Then the relieved call came, they want to get to know you better.
The stone that fell from my heart was huge!!!"

“Now you are finally in your new home with very competent people.
I wish you all the best and a long time together!" The animal shelter employee ends her contribution with emotional words: "I will miss you, you really didn't make it easy for us at first, but then everything was forgotten and you are very dear to me grown!
Take care my big one, I'm really happy for you."

Many dogs are still waiting for a new home at the animal shelter in Nuremberg
There was also a happy ending in November for the dog grandpas Tommy and Jack.
At the age of 16, Jack found dear people who took him in.
Tommy came to the shelter with a burst tumor and after a few weeks he too found a new home.
Other dogs are not so lucky.
Some of them have been waiting for their humans for years.
For example, "Eisbär" Eiki, Pincher Toni and the disabled Goofy are still looking for a new family.
