As part of the promotion of his book
Upheavals
(Stock),
François Hollande
gave an interview to our colleagues from
Télépro
in Belgium.
The former President of the Republic gave his opinion on the current quality of political debates on television.
"Today, the controversies are multiple, the programs are designed only in this perspective
", he believes without mentioning any programs in particular.
“There is a kind of vulgarization and, when it is only vulgarity, it is a problem.
We live a period of war in Ukraine, high inflation, loss of purchasing power, global warming and we will hear in France debates on bullfighting or barbecue.
This is so reductive compared to what we live.

Asked about the fact that he never made it to
Cyril Hanouna
's broadcasts on C8 -
"Don't touch my post!
“
, “Drop your post!
» or even « Facing Baba » - François Hollande does not seem to be planning to change his course of action.
“There are plenty of shows.
It is the responsibility of each political figure to know whether or not to go on this show
, he replied to
Télépro
.
But when we go there, we shouldn't complain because we know, alas, this rule of the game: it's a game based on controversy.
If you want to avoid it, don't go there.
My place is more where it is possible to express my ideas.
And
to add:
"Freedom is being able to say what you think with words that are not insulting or exclusionary or vulgar"
.

A year ago, Cyril Hanouna had been particularly virulent with regard to the former head of state.
“François Hollande does not like us
”
,
had notably declared the host of C8 live in “Touche pas à mon poste!
".
“
He has the right, but we have the right not to like him either.
Who are we talking about?
By François Hollande, not Saint-Exupéry.
The only thing we remember about him, brother, is a guy with croissants.
Let him go work at Uber Eats.
Let him go work at Deliveroo.
