Al-Bir Hospital affiliated to Al-Bir Society and Social Services in Al-Waer neighborhood, Homs governorate, has provided medical services to 319 patients since the start of the national cancer screening campaign on the 19th of last month until now.
Zakaria Al-Shaar, the campaign coordinator at Al-Barr Hospital, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that during the aforementioned period, a breast examination was conducted for 176 women and girls, and 11 cervical smears for married women over the age of 21, in addition to 134 prostate analyzes for men over the age of fifty, pointing out that the investigation center About cancer in Al-Bar Hospital, the clinics department continues to receive all citizens who wish to investigate and check up on their health.
Al-Shaar indicated that the volunteer teams in the association carry out awareness campaigns during the days of the investigation campaign for patients in hospital clinics and all departments, in addition to field tours to schools and various government centers to raise awareness and promote and spread the culture of screening for cancer “breast, cervix and prostate” which are the most common and most curable. .
