78-year-old driver dies after a traffic accident near Fürstenfeldbruck

Fürstenfeldbruck - Any help came too late on Thursday afternoon, December 7th, for a 78-year-old driver who ran into oncoming traffic on the B 471 near Fürstenfeldbruck and collided head-on with a car.
The tragic accident, which ended fatally for the 78-year-old, happened at 4:10 p.m. on the B 471 between the Fürstenfeldbruck West and Buchenau exits.
According to uninvolved witnesses, the pensioner from Fürstenfeldbruck, who was alone in his Opel car at the time of the accident, came further and further into the oncoming lane and collided there with the oncoming car of a 77-year-old BMW driver.
The woman from Fürstenfeldbruck tried to avoid the Opel, but could no longer prevent a collision.
Unfortunately, when the rescue workers arrived, the 78-year-old man had already died.
The 77-year-old BMW driver was trapped in her vehicle and had to be freed by the fire department.
She was seriously injured in a rescue helicopter and taken to a Munich clinic.
Long road closure
To clarify the exact cause of the accident, the responsible public prosecutor's office in Munich II ordered the consultation of an expert.
The main road had to be completely closed for about four hours.
The volunteer fire brigades from Fürstenfeldbruck and Aich, as well as the THW, were involved at the accident site.
