Climate activists are once again penetrating the BER site.
However, flight operations were not disrupted this time.
There were also actions in Munich.
Berlin/Schoenefeld - Once again, climate activists from the group "Last Generation" entered the cordoned off area of the capital's airport BER to protest for more political action against the climate crisis.
Unlike the previous action two weeks ago, flight operations on Thursday morning were not affected, said a spokeswoman for the federal police.
The demonstrators cut through a fence.
Two activists managed to stick themselves to an apron near the fence.
But they didn't get to the runway.
Six other activists had not penetrated the site.
The emergency services were alerted around 9:20 a.m. on Thursday morning, the spokeswoman said.
About an hour later, the operation could be declared over.
The "Last Generation" said on Twitter that they had informed the police about the plan before the action began.
The spokeswoman for the federal police rejected this representation on request.
No specific information was previously known.
"We reacted quickly," said the spokeswoman for the federal police.
Since the last incident at BER Airport, the forces have been increased.
On November 24, the climate activists paralyzed flight operations at BER for almost two hours.
Several people gained access to the site through a fence.
Some of them glued themselves to the ground.
The airport halted operations on both runways.
An action by climate activists at Munich Airport was also quickly ended on Thursday morning, as an airport spokesman said.
With their actions, the "last generation" wants to increase the pressure on the federal government to take stronger action against the climate crisis.
"We are directly opposed to the causes of the climate catastrophe," the group said on Twitter.
"Where are at least the first security measures such as a speed limit or a €9 ticket?" The "last generation" often makes the headlines with their blockade actions or attacks on works of art.
The airport association ADV (working group of German commercial airports) criticized the action on Thursday.
The association lacks "any understanding" for this, it said.
It is unacceptable if the safety of air traffic is endangered.
"More severe interference with air traffic is rightly prosecuted."
