Hit by Morocco and thrashed by Portugal without CR7 as starter 4:16
(CNN Spanish) - The Royal Spanish Football Federation announced this Thursday that Luis Enrique ceased to be the coach of the Spain team after the elimination in the round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar at the hands of Morocco.
"The sports management of the RFEF has transferred to the president a report in which it is determined that a new project should start for the Spanish Soccer Team, with the aim of continuing with the growth achieved in recent years thanks to the work carried out by Luis Enrique and his collaborators," says the statement published this Thursday on the federation's social networks.
"The RFEF wants to thank the work of Luis Enrique and his entire coaching staff at the head of the absolute national team over the last few years," he added.
