The police caught the cat molester from Vaterstetten!

The perpetrator comes from the Ebersberg district and is currently being treated as an inpatient.

Vaterstetten

– The case had caused horror far beyond the Ebersberg district in the summer.

A cat killer was up to mischief in Vaterstetten.

Three animals had to die in agony.

Now, months later, the police have caught the perpetrator.

This was announced by the Poing police on Thursday, December 8th.

He comes from the district of Ebersberg and is currently in inpatient treatment.

Gruesome discovery on adventure playground

One case in particular caused horror: residents had made a horrific discovery on the adventure playground in Vaterstetten.

On June 25, a house cat, believed to be alive, had all of its extremities severed and distributed around the site.

The cat's head was discovered on the swing while the cat's body was lying in the grass in the middle of the playground.

A paw was discovered right next to the carcass.

According to the investigators, the animal mutilator, who was unknown at the time, also severed the three other paws and the tail of the animal.

They were not initially found.

The period of the offense could be narrowed down precisely

Shortly before the dead animal was discovered, the owner, who lives near the playground, saw her two-and-a-half-year-old cat still walking, a police spokesman said in June.

Therefore, the crime period had to be narrowed down precisely.

A volunteer contact person for found cats from the region had confirmed to the officials that the animal was probably mutilated while alive, which is evident from the wounds.

The animal's head was apparently smashed in and severed with a sharp object.

The brutality of the act, paired with the staging at the place of discovery, also gave hard-boiled police officers a hard time.

"We've never had that before," said the police spokesman.

Bloody ax found near the crime scene

An ax was later found near the playground.

The police assumed that it could be the murder weapon.

Hair and blood were found on the axe, and the police secured DNA evidence.

The animal welfare organization PETA, the animal welfare organizations in Munich and Ebersberg, and private donors raised almost 6,000 euros, which were offered as a reward for information that would help the perpetrator to be apprehended.
