A potential catastrophe avoided.
This Wednesday, the Victor Dupouy hospital center in Argenteuil has just filed a complaint with the Pontoise prosecutor after an attempted cyberattack.
Thwarted, the attempted intrusion into the hospital's computer network could indeed be detected before the perpetrators achieved their objective, which was generally to take control of it.
“Measures to circumscribe this attack were immediately taken by our teams from the Territorial Information Systems Department and in view of the investigations that have been carried out, no data breach has been noted at this stage”, affirms the hospital in a statement.
Information that he however wished to make public “for the sake of transparency”.
“Hospital activity has not been disrupted and all of our services remain operational”, assures the establishment.
Hospitals particularly targeted
But vigilance is obviously still required.
"Our IT teams are fully mobilized and work in close cooperation with the experts of the National Information Systems Security Agency (ANSSI), to protect the interests of our patients, our partners and our employees", adds the hospital that may have escaped the fate recently experienced by other hospitals.
The Versailles hospital has been the target of a major cyberattack since December 3.
Still in progress, it has strong consequences on the functioning of the establishment.
Deprived of all modern means of communication, he finds himself forced to operate “in degraded mode”.
The group of hackers leading this cyberattack demand ransom money before releasing the system.
“We do not intend to pay it,” assured Richard Delepierre, mayor (MoDem) of Chesnay-Rocquencourt and co-chairman of the supervisory board of the Versailles hospital center at the start of the week.
An event that comes after the attack suffered this summer, this time by the South Ile-de-France Hospital Center (CHSF) in Corbeil-Essonnes (Essonne).
Again a ransom had been demanded by the hackers.
More than three months later, the consequences were still being felt, forcing staff back to pen and paper.
The computer system is also being rebuilt, in order to benefit from optimal operation.
