Change in the image of the PP: Feijóo suppresses the last trace of Casado at the Genoa headquarters

The PP logo will recover the classic blue and white colors and the name "Populares" will be eliminated to return to the traditional "Popular Party". The Genoa façade will be the first to change

The Genoa façade will soon lose all traces of Pablo Casado's PP.

Alberto Núñez Feijóo wants to give a new air to the image of the party, so that it identifies with the stage that has opened with his leadership.

The PP will modify its logo and name to return to a much more classic concept, which is more recognizable with the usual PP, in a decision that will be displayed first on the façade of the historic party headquarters in Madrid, which will change in the coming weeks.

The change is not disruptive because that would imply a large expense to alter the PP billboards throughout the country, but enough so that Genoa looks different and without vestiges of the Casadista stage, which they want to consider completely over.

The change consists in the fact that the PP logo will recover the classic colors, in blue and white, losing the colors of the Spanish flag of the tern that crowns the initials in the shape of a heart.

And that the PP will once again be called the "Popular Party", and not "populares", as it now appears on all the party's official billboards, including the Genoa façade, which will be reformed.

Feijóo thus banishes the image of Casado's PP, which tried to rejuvenate the brand by incorporating new colors, with a different logo and a lowercase font for the name "popular".

“Real Madrid is not called madridistas, so neither is the PP;

It is called the Popular Party”, say sources from Genoa.

The change can already be seen in the official Twitter account of the PP, which has lost the "popular" and instead "Popular Party" appears in blue on a white background.

Casado modified the image of the PP in 2019, coinciding with a popular convention held that year.

The logo then changed to the tern in the shape of a heart, and the name “populares”, which Mariano Rajoy had already adopted, began to be written in lower case, with a rounded typeface.

The colors of the Spanish flag, as explained by Marta González, the deputy secretary of Communication at that stage, were used to "identify the history of the party with the love that the PP feels for Spain."

It was the time of the rise of Ciudadanos and Vox and the Spanish brilliance after the unilateral declaration of independence of Catalonia in 2017, and the PP had to fight that battle even in the initials.

Three years later, Feijóo opted instead for a more sober idea, without youthful experiments.

More classic and without the colors of the Spanish flag.

Just blue and white.

With the name of all life.

The first thing that will change will be the façade of the historic headquarters of the PP, according to sources in Genoa, which is scheduled to be modified this December.

But later, little by little, the rest of the party venues will gradually do so, and then all the official posters.

The first decision that Feijóo made regarding the headquarters of the PP was to keep it.

Casado had promised that the PP would leave Génova street after the National Court considered it proven in October 2021 that the party paid in black for the million-dollar reform of the building and condemned the party as subsidiary civil liability.

But Feijóo renounced selling it and resolved the contract that the formation signed with a consultant to help him in the real estate operation that was short-circuited.

"The buildings are not to blame for anything," argued the general coordinator of the PP, Elías Bendodo, in May.

Feijóo stays in Genoa, but with a renovated facade.

The more sober aesthetic change in the brand coincides with the image that Feijóo wants to project of greater solvency with respect to Casado, who already began to be visualized with the first motto of the party with the arrival of the Galician politician, "Preparados", to banish the aura inexperienced from the previous stage.

At the moment, the new image is for the organic stage, and the one that the PP will wear for the next elections is yet to be defined.

In his last campaigns in Galicia, Feijóo chose to hide the initials and the name of the PP, which he substituted for his last name ―Feijóo― and Galicia.

It is still early for that decision;

The first step is to remove the Casadista vestiges from the Genoa façade.
