At the annual general meeting of the Erding Historical Association, there was a special honor and new elections for the board of directors.

Erding

– “After two years of agony”, according to Heike Kronseder, chairwoman of the Erding Historical Association, around a third of its 400 members were able to meet again in the ballroom of the Weißbräu for the annual general meeting.

On the agenda was not only the election of the board for a further four years, but also an outlook on the activities in the coming year.

There was a special honor: Clarissa Höschel from Sonnendorf was awarded the Researcher Prize 2022 - for her historical work on the Sisters of Mercy.

"Caritas Christi urget nos" - Christ's charity urges us: That was the motto of those Sisters of Mercy who selflessly cared for the sick and infirm in Erding in the 19th century.

Her grave in the St. Paul Cemetery motivated Höschel to explore its history, "because there, at her last resting place, I discovered historical gaps".

That motivated her to do more research.

And so she researched with the help of the city archivist Markus Hiermer, read over 160 letters and documents from the nuns before writing her specialist article.

For this she received a certificate and a monetary gift from Kronseder.

In return, she promised to soon also examine the life and work of these Samaritan women in the 20th century.

Otherwise, as the chairwoman reported, there had been popular trips to historical sites again in the current year, "always a dozen on average since 1978".

In addition, her deputy Christian Numberger can now call himself a certified church leader.

Cooperation with other associations with similar interests was also successful, especially with the Archaeological Association.

During the corona pandemic, lectures online were not very well received at first, "but interested parties slowly got used to them and finally used them actively," Kronseder looked back.

She also pointed out a new service on the association's homepage: Anyone who uses the "History Forum" button there can post their own historical contributions of all kinds.

In the coming year, the association will again have a wide range of offers: in January, after the traditional New Year's reception at the Museum Erding, there will be a half-day trip to Freising, followed in February by a trip to Manching to the Celtic and Roman Museum.

In March, those who are interested are explained how the Baroque came to Munich, and in April the association invites you to a three-day cultural trip about archeology to places along the Danube.

Exciting events are also planned in and around Erding.

The association would like to offer its members something again, at least the cash register allows a solid margin.

Treasurer Heidemarie Menzel was able to report an account balance of around 18,000 euros.

The new election of the board of directors that was due was a mere formality, because apart from the auditors, all incumbents made themselves available again.

In the future, Beatrix Lang and Bernhard Lorenz will be responsible for checking the club's finances.

Kronseder was particularly pleased about this consistency in terms of personnel.

The musical accompaniment to the gathering by Simon Bauer, an Erdinger talent on piano and organ, who, just 20, is studying church music in Munich, was perhaps a comfort.
