End of life law: doubt grows at the time of the debate

DECRYPTION - From this Friday, 173 French people drawn by lot will debate on the need to change, or not, the law which prohibits euthanasia and assisted suicide. The exercise promises to be perilous.

The citizens' convention announced by Emmanuel Macron begins its work this Friday, under the aegis of the Cese (Economic, Social and Environmental Council).

Until mid-March, 173 citizens aged 18 to 87, from a panelized draw, will work for nine weekends on the question posed by the Prime Minister on the support framework for the end of life in France.

“Is it adapted to the different situations encountered or should any changes be introduced?”

asked Elisabeth Borne, who will also be present for the opening of the works.
