The city of Geretsried wants to expand local public transport.

From 2023, a third city bus will be on the road.

Geretsried - Mayor Michael Müller (CSU) explained this at the regulars' table of his party.

A third city bus is to be in operation from 2023 – additional costs: around 74,000 euros.

All three city buses should then also be better connected to the cross-district X-Bus.

In the future, the city bus (line 310) from Stein will turn right via Richard-Wagner-Straße in the direction of Waldpark (instead of heading for Verdiweg as before) and continue on Altvaterstraße to the “Stern” on Sudetenstraße.

The bus stop there is currently being expanded so that users can transfer directly to the X-Bus.

Electronic scoreboards are to be installed

A passenger information system, i.e. electronic display boards that show when the next bus is coming, will also be installed.

The 310 will continue on the Sudetenstraße via the Herglotz junction and incorporate the musicians' quarter and the Neuer Platz on a new route, before returning to Stein.

It was a wish of the citizens of Stein to get better shopping and back again with the city bus, explained Müller.

In Gartenberg, the city bus will in future drive through Egerlandstrasse.

As reported, the city council would like to keep Karl-Lederer-Platz free of traffic on a trial basis in order to set up a pedestrian zone there.

A spacious, barrier-free stop for lines 310, 370 and 378 is being built in the middle of Egerlandstraße, at the height of the new BGZ2.

In the future, the city bus will no longer roll through Fasanenweg, but will make a curve - past the Raiffeisenbank in the direction of the city center.

This also connects it to the 370 at Rübezahlstrasse.

Müller: “All in all, we are creating more points of contact and transfer options.

The 310 forms the backbone of this.”

In the long term, the mayor can imagine shortening the clock to 20 instead of 30 minutes.

However, this change could take place in four years at the earliest in the next round of tenders.
